Being in a state of overwhelm can be caused by so many things – too much emotion, sensory overload, too much pressure, too much choice – TOO MUCH full stop.

For autistic people, who are particularly sensitive to overstimulation, the outcome of being in a state of overwhelm also varies, depending on the environment, the cause, how intense the sensation is and, most importantly, as always, depending on each individual.
