Ableism is inequality and prejudice towards disabled people. It doesn’t equally take the needs of disabled people, including neurodivergent people, into account in a culture created for the convenience and comfort of able and neurotypical people. It involves the assumption that able people are normal, better, standard. Those of us who don’t fit this mould struggle with everyday life because we have our needs ignored, or worse, are ridiculed, persecuted and seen as lacking or faulty.
